Debra E's Never-Ending TBR

Yet another totally sweet and adorable character in this series stole my heart from the moment he hit the page. Milo is sweetness, innocence and purity and I just wanted to wrap him in my arms and never let him go. Jason, a man of science, logic and reason, who has suppressed his dog for years and has just recently returned to Mad Creek doesn't have time for anything unrelated to his research and is not a people person. Milo's talents as a comfort dog however, draw the two together once Jason offers him a temporary home.

Although the plot revolves around finding a cure for a deadly illness that is spreading among the quickened, the story is mostly low angst and romance is incredibly sweet. I loved watching Jason's seemingly cold heart crack as Milo worms his way into it without Jason even knowing what was going on. Milo's yearning for a forever home had me all misty eyed more than once.

All the characters from the previous books are back and a few new ones too. There is a bit of a tease towards the end that has me thinking that there is some danger ahead for the inhabitants of town and I'll be looking forward to getting my hands on the next installment.
