While I would suggest reading that short story first to get a better feel for the men and the situation, there is enough information given in Unexpected Moments that it is not crucial. After a few encounters Carter and Eddie have decided they both want more and begin dating and spending time together. Carter has been up-front with Eddie about wanting a permanent third man in the future and while Eddie is not against the idea, he wants time with just Carter first. While on one of their dates the men come across brewery owner Dare and Carter makes his interest known. Dare has had a rough few years and Eddie and Carter’s proposition intrigues him. The fact that he is attracted to the men after what he has been through convinces him to give it a shot, but before things can even really get started, someone violently targets Carter and the three men’s plans are suddenly changing.

I liked Carter and Eddie when I read the first story and that didn’t change here. Carter and Eddie are both straight forward and are not afraid to tell the other what they want in or out of the bedroom. This makes for some smoking hot sex scenes including dirty talk and some light BDSM. Dare is a great addition to the story; although a bit on the shy side, he is also willing to speak up and be honest, including sharing his concerns about how the relationship could affect his business and his family. The story moves along at a good pace and the tension and suspense ratchet up as Carter’s stalker becomes more aggressive towards the three men. Actions that are meant to drive the three apart serve to move the relationship along at a quicker pace and really help to bond the men together.

I was completely caught up in the story. The pace was good and I was invested in the three men finding the happily ever after. While I would have gladly read more about the men, the extra scene after the Epilogue was like icing on the cake and left me with the HEA I was hoping for.
