This was a quick read with a lovely romance/(light) mystery. The MC's are closeted LAPD cop Matt and fitness trainer Kira, who is in the closet as far as work goes, and works at a gym where Matt and many of the cops he works with are members. The attraction between the two is instant and after a night of drinks with his co-workers, Matt lets slip to Kira that he is interested but closeted. Since they are both in the same position Matt agrees to a date. Matt and his team have been working on a high profile case that has them stumped (although you likely won't be) and Kira is understanding of his position as far as work intruding on any relationship. Soon, the two are inseparable and Matt is meeting the family (Kira's parents are stellar in their secondary character roles) and realizing he just may be falling in love for the first time in his life.
The relationship between Matt and Kira worked for me. Although it was very sweet and the two got together quickly, it didn't feel rushed. The mystery was not difficult to figure out (except for the hot-shot cops), but the climax of that plot was unexpected in the turn it took. I was happy to see that the book didn't end there, but followed the men through the fallout. Looking forward to reading the next installment!
