Love Lessons

The book was enjoyable, the writing good and I liked the romance. The roommates/friends to lovers was done very well. Experienced Walter and virginal Kelly made a good opposites attract couple. I enjoyed the tension and build up to their romance.
As far as storylines go, it was typical new adult fare with the two finding their way in a college that does not quite live up to the image it projects (not sure really why anyone chooses that school) and struggling with family dramas. Where the book lost me was in the too many Disney references and the sugary sweet epilogue. I understand that Kelly is a Disney fan and his life has been a Disney movie, while Walter identifies more with Fight Club. It just got to be too much for me and took me out of the story at times.
I do enjoy Heidi Cullinan's books and this was a bit of a departure for her. Well done, but perhaps just not for me.
